
Jovana Čavorović
Jovana Čavorović (1985) is a Serbian ceramic artist currently based in Tajimi, Japan. Her recent large scale sculptural style combines fine arts with contemporary Japanese approach to ceramic object-making practices. Fort the last two years Jovana is pursuing postgraduate studies at The Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center (Ishoken), under Harumi Nakashima. Jovana is co-founder and co-owner of Blatobran gallery in Belgrade, Serbia. Batobran is a ceramics center established in 2015 as an artist co-operative. In 2018 she was awarded funding from the Kanbe Foundation and in 2019 from Gendaibijyutsu Bunka Shinko Zaidan Scholarship to support her studio practice. In 2019 Jovana was selected as a finalist for exhibition at the 116th Arita International Ceramic Competition, where she won the Mayor’s Prize. The same year she was awarded the Outstanding Performance Award in Tobiten Tokyo. Jovana works are held in various museums and private collections.
