Tina Danilović

Tina Danilović is a painter living and working in Belgrade, Serbia whose work is a critique of human behaviour in today's societies. She places her figures in surreal landscapes, emphasising their feelings and expressions to give them a comical appearance. This characterisation is a condemnation of human society. Heavily applied paint and surreal motifs of cats, snowmen and volcanoes give Danilovic’s work a dreamlike quality that emphasises her subjects’ strange behaviour. Colour and form are just as important to the structure of her paintings as the narrative content, in fact the relationship is symbiotic. The result is as mysterious as poetry, revealing the unconscious in the spectator. Tina studied painting at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Belgrade. Since graduating in 2012 she has had a total of five solo exhibitions in Belgrade and Toronto as well as taking part in several group exhibitions.
